Guilty TV Pleasure... The Bachelor

Guilty TV Pleasure… The Bachelor

After watching The Bachelor and its counterpart, The Bachelorette for many, many years, I decided to add a twist for The Bachelor season 18 and I invited a group of friends to play a game where we picked the final two bachelorettes and ultimately the winner of the final rose.  I found an online game that hosted our picks and we created a private Facebook group so we could chat about each episode!  Oh the comments we made and photos we liked…

We had a 3-way tie in the end and what did the champions win?  Custom Bachelor sockprints, of course!  Congratulations to my friends, Adrienne, Dana and Tamara!

Mazel Socks!

Mazel Socks!

We have a blast working with event planners and families preparing for Bat and Bar Mitzvahs.  This special event in a young Jewish person’s life calls for extra special touches, including custom printed socks!

The best custom printed socks for Bat and Bar Mitzvahs start with a great design.  Some event planners and parents will provide sockprints with a custom logo created for the Bat or Bar Mitzvah while others will tell us the party theme and our creative team will get to work on some artwork ideas.  Either way, the end result is a fun and festive design for your custom socks!

For inspiration, take a look at some of the custom socks that we’ve created for Bat and Bar Mitzvahs.

Almost all logos look great on our socks, but from time to time we may need to make slight adjustments (to fit the print space for example).  If you have any questions about your design on our socks, feel free to ask.

If you’ve ordered sockprints for your special event, please take photos and share them with us via email, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram.  We love seeing our socks in action and we may share them with our followers!  The socks below were printed for a Bat Mitzvah in New York.  Click here to see the spotlight on Lex's Bat Mitzvah last spring.

Congrats South Soccer (sock-er for Happy Soles)!

WARNING:  if you don’t want to hear how great my daughter’s high school soccer team was this year, skip to the picture of the cute socks (ha-ha)!

So, can a soccer mom brag?  Absolutely, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do!  My daughter is a senior at South High School in Torrance, California on the varsity soccer team and they had an unbelievable 2013 season.  Their record of 26 wins, 6 ties and only 1 loss is incredible!  Unfortunately the loss came in the CIF semi-finals in overtime, ending their undefeated season.  While it was a heart-breaking loss coming up just short of reaching the championship game, the overall accomplishments of this team are nothing short of fabulous!  The final rankings put this team at 21st in the nation (the whole U.S.A!), 10th in the state of California (a huge state!), and 6th in Southern California!  WOW!

For a party favor at the annual varsity soccer banquet, I created some custom printed socks for the graduating seniors.  The intentionally mis-matched socks capture the team’s accomplishments of the season on sockprints’ bright green neon no-show socks.  A fun way to remember the highlights of the season!

To create your own personalized socks visit our website www.sockprints.com.  We also have some pre-designed socks for purchase on our etsy store that you can personalize.  If you’re looking for some additional inspiration for custom socks, check out our Pinterest boards, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and be sure to follow us there too!

The 13-year-old Boy Sockprints Test

At sockprints we are constantly working to improve our products by testing and researching new markets, conducting test prints, offering new styles and more.  Our latest successful test results came from a group of 13 year old boys at a birthday party.

Our community has a new indoor trampoline park and my son couldn’t wait to have his 13th birthday party there with his friends.  Not knowing much about the venue I called ahead and asked what the participants wore on their feet to jump.  I was told that they wear shoes that they get there and that the boys need to wear socks.  And just like that, I knew what the party favor was going to be!  Yep, how could a sockprints mom give any other party favor?

My son has seen all sorts of socks that we’ve printed and when I asked him how he felt about giving his friends some sockprints, his only concern was that we didn’t print some girly, pink, or bright colors or designs on the socks.  We came up with these socks to give the boys and the feedback I’ve gotten from some of the moms was that they are a hit!  One of the toughest crowds to please gave us the thumbs up!

Here’s a conversation on the car ride home one of the moms shared with me via email putting a BIG smile on my face!

Luke:  WOW, I love these!  No one ever made me socks before! I wish my mom could make socks!  I love these!  Do you think she can put a logo on it?  These are great! I wish my mom could make socks!

Jonny:  Dude, Hayley can put anything on a sock.

Luke:  Jonny, are you gonna wear your socks to school tomorrow?  I think I'm gonna wear my socks, I love these socks!

Jonny:  Dude, did you feel how soft they are? You can put them on your hands and use them as mittens, except they don't have the thumby things.

Luke:  If I can tie them together I can wear it as a sweat band for soccer...

Jonny:  EWWW....

If we can please this crowd, give us a shot for your next party favor, gift or other fun occasion!
Happy Birthday Chase!

Weddings - Love, Laughter, and Happily Ever After

Looking back at our customer orders over the past couple of months, it is clear that it is wedding season!  We’ve printed some fun and original socks for rehearsal dinners, bachelorette parties, bridal parties, and newlyweds.  Here’s a small sampling of some of the wedding socks that we’ve printed to inspire your next order.

Congratulations to newlyweds Matt and Catherine who asked us to print socks for their rehearsal dinner.  This fun couple added bowling to their big night!  What a great idea.  We love their theme and party favor.  They gave each guest a pair of bowling socks.  They selected both men’s and women’s no show socks in case their guests didn’t have a pair to spare (bowling joke  - hahaha).  They were some of our favorite customers this spring as they sent us a nice thank you note too.  Best wishes to you Cat and Matt!

These socks were inspired by an upcoming bachelorette party.  Check out the new, neon no-show socks now available at sockprints (sold in sets of three as shown).

And these socks are the perfect little something for the entire bridal party.  Each pair can be personalized with the bridesmaid's name.

Don’t forget anniversary gifts too!  We love stories like this one we received from one of our customers who searched for the perfect anniversary gift.

"My wife and I are celebrating our second wedding anniversary soon.  The traditional gift for this anniversary is cotton.  I needed something unique and fun, just like her.  I came across your website and it was perfect.  Your socks are 80% cotton - I figured that counted.  I used the logo from her gift shop (www.theweddingcottage.net) for two of the sock sets and the other set was just a fun message.  The socks are awesome and I can't wait to give them to her!  I know she will love all three sets.  I'll definitely be back for more sock gifts!

Thank you Sockprints!"
- Jacob

Here is a tried and true favorite sure to be a hit.

PROM?

We have another clever sockprints customer to thank for taking us back down high school memory lane and bringing us this custom sock idea… Prom invitation socks!

Prom Invitations - We have a great time coming up with inventive things  to print on our socks and we’re always thrilled to see new custom sock ideas from our customers.  One customer came up with a fun way to ask his date to the prom.   He created a set of 3 no show socks.  The first pair popped the question and the second and third pairs could be worn to show her response.  Very clever!

Prom Party Favors - If you’re on the prom planning committee, how about offering attendees custom socks to commemorate the event?  Tired feet will love to slip off high heels and slide into the comfort of a pair of sockprints on the dance floor.  We have sock styles for girls and boys and your high school or prom logo will look great on them.

After Prom Remembrance –When the party is over and you’ve looked at your prom pictures, upload a few to sockprints and create some prom memory socks.  Order a set for your date to say, “Thank you” or make some for yourself to remember that occasion.

Retro Prom - The sample socks below are from the most recent prom I went to a few years ago.  That’s right, a few years ago.  Not 20-something years ago like a few of my friends might think I’m mentioning.  Some family members hosted a retro-prom party one New Year’s eve and we had a blast dressing up in our retro prom attire, taking pictures and voting for prom king and queen.  I’m pleased to say that although the voting is still disputed amongst family, my husband and I won the prom king and queen contest!

If we had sockprints back at our retro prom party I would have printed a pair of socks for each couple with their prom picture on it for them.  We still get a good laugh every time we see these photos and having them on personalized socks would be a great way to reminisce about that night.

We’re running a special PROMotion this spring for 25% off your custom sock order.  Enter PROM12 at checkout to receive your discount.

The Pink Badge of Courage

A year ago in October of 2010, Sockprints created custom printed socks for the annual Girl’s Night Out event held at the Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California to raise money for the Cancer Support Community (formerly The Wellness Community).  A year has passed and Torrance Memorial Hospital once again contacted us to create a unique take-home gift for the 240+ women in attendance at this year’s event.

In addition to the amazement that another year has flown by and the annual event is already here, I’m amazed and inspired by the women in attendance and especially those who share their breast cancer survivor stories.  I’m also in awe of the generosity of those in our community who make the event possible.  Thank you Torrance Memorial for thinking of Sockprints again this year and for the opportunity to share in this magical event.

The color pink and the pink ribbon are symbols of hope and a commitment to the cause.  There are many opportunities for us to show our support for breast cancer awareness and if you’re looking for some inspiration we have a few new ideas.

The Intentional Mis-Match

I’m the first to admit that before sockprints, there were times when my sock drawer was bare and I had to make a run to the dryer to grab two socks hoping to make a matching pair before I ran out the door.  You’ve been in the same situation before too, right?

I figured as long as they were the same color and a similar style I should be ok and I just hoped that no one would notice.  Now, thanks to sockprints and a fun new twist in creating custom socks, I’m intentionally mis-matching socks and hoping that people will take notice!

Yep, there are mis-matched socks out there you’ve never even thought of creating before.  I mean, why would people want socks that don’t match?  Because it’s fun, it’s cool, and now it’s possible!  Here are some images to inspire your custom mis-matched socks:

This southern California middle school has added custom mis-matched socks to their line of spirit wear.

One of my favorite college football teams stomped all over our rival team last weekend and I created this pair to remind me of the sweet smell of victory!

 Here’s a fun way to tell a joke…

Creating your own, personalized mis-matched socks is easy to do with the sockprints online design tool.  Using our knee highs as an example, simply create one pair of socks with one design and then the other pair of socks with another design.  Our knee highs are sold in sets of two so it’s easy to get two customs pairs of mis-matched socks at one time.

Having a party and need multiple pairs of mis-matched socks for a hip party favor?  Not a problem.  Our no-shows and crew socks are sold in sets of 3 so it’s easy to create 3 pairs with one image and then 3 pairs with a different image.  Voila – you’ll have 6 pairs of custom mis-matched socks!

If you need help with your creation, we’re easy to reach at contactus@sockprints.com.  Our design team and graphics department can help with super-custom, mis-match socks for large orders.

We’re so excited about the endless possibilities of mis-match socks that we can’t wait to see what you create at sockprints!  Please share your ideas with us by commenting below and feel free to tell us about your sock creations in the “notes” section when checking out of your shopping cart.

And to inspire you even more, use coupon code MISMATCH at checkout to receive 25% off your order through October 31, 2011.
