Christmas Adopt A Family

A couple posts ago I wrote about a fun group of my friends who get together about once a month to create care packages to send to our daughters who are in college and away from home.  It's a great time to get together to catch up on how everyone is doing while creating a little something for our girls.  We even created our own private Facebook group, Care Package Club to stay in touch between gatherings and plan for our next care package theme.

Feeling extremely grateful for our friendships and the season for giving, we decided that instead of sending care packages in December we would adopt a family and give to them.  We contacted a local charity that connected us with a family and we asked our group to fulfill items from their Christmas wish list.  Some of the moms and daughters from Care Package Club went to a special luncheon hosted by Harbor Interfaith Service in San Pedro, California where they got to meet the family we adopted and share our gifts.  A great time was had by all!

Of course, this family's Christmas wouldn't have been complete unless they all received a pair of personalized sockprints too!

Wishing everyone the joys of the holiday season!
